About Amethyst Center, Inc.
Amethyst Center, Inc. was founded in 1992 as a non-profit 501(c) 3 corporation by Claudia Merrill. Ms. Merrill currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer. The organization was established to provide , Human Services, Home Care and Veterans Services to individuals in need of Mental, Physical, and Rehabilitation Supports in the community.
Amethyst Center, Inc. services are provided to individuals ages eighteen through end of life. Amethyst Center provides elder care, respite services as well as services to the homeless. Home care services and rehabilitation supports are provided in the comfort of the individuals home. Amethyst Center, Inc. Services are provided Coast to Coast.
The service base has expanded to include In-Home Elder Care staffing services, to individuals ages 65 and older, Adult Day Care, (In-Home), Hospice Care, Companion services, Veterans Services, Activities and leisure events, Health and Wellness services. Our Staff are trained and certified and ready to be of service to you at your convenience.
Amethyst Center also provides permanent housing services to homeless individuals needing to rebuild their lives and make a new start.
Amethyst Center also provides leisure and supportive outlets to individuals with Mental and Physical disabilities through the Amethyst Center Conservatory. The conservatory opened in March 2008.
The current program includes Art Expression, Music, Women's support group, entrepreneurship training, personal growth and development. The Conservatory is located in Michigan.

| Service Philosophy:
The organization believes in community and an active life outside the home or work place. These activities include memberships in educational and social enhancement organizations, associtaions with friends, family and other supportive networks.
Services provided to indidividuals with intense needs are done in collaboration and liaison with other service providers such as, medical, hospitals, casemanagement agaencies, home health care agencies, family members and community organizations. Planning for care is done by request of the individual and family members or friends. However it is the individual who designs the plan that is the most comfortable for them. Individuals s who recieve services from Amethyst Center enjoy the enhancement of voicing their needs and enhancing their independence and quality of life.
In addition the organization works closely with families, community resources, and other service providers coordinate supports as required by the individual. Through assessment, monitoring of progress and providing support services, every individual can acheive their goals and design the services that will best meet their needs.
Staffing services are provided to individuals living in the comfort of their own home. Our staff are fully trained and certified to assist individuals and to meet their needs in a dignified and humane manner.
