Amethyst Center, Inc. annually recognizes outstanding members of the community, as well as outstanding members of the Amethyst Center Team, and the achievements of the individuals we serve.
The community service award goes to an individual who has volunteered their time and talent not only to Amethyst Center, but to other organizations working toward building a better and brighter community for all people.

—Ola Robinson-Lawyer Consultant and Founder of I live to Speak Out Loud, Board Member Amethyst Center, Inc.
Annually Ms. Robinson-Lawyer gives her time and her talent to Amethyst Center by assisting with our fund raising activities and making a donation from the Verizon Foundation. The Donation is used to support the Odessa N. Merrill Scholarship.
John JF Thorne, Director of Black Catholic Ministries for Archdiocese of Detroit. In addition to his role as Board President for Amethyst Center, Inc. John works tirelessly blessing thousands of people in the community by delivering food baskets to those in need,using his gift of music to uplift those who feel hopeless, and giving an enourmous amout of time to making sure that Amethyst Center is well known and maintains the mission of service to others in dignified and humane manner. His contributions benefit our customers and their families.
Amethyst Center, Inc. Fund-Raising
Amethyst Center, Inc. holds Fund Raisers throughout the year.
These Fund Raisers assist the organization with providing quality
services and diverse program services.

This is an informative book about Planning for Eldercare before the Need.
The book can be purchased at Amethyst Center 30777 Northwestern Highway Suite108 Farmington Hills, MI 48334 and at Truth Bookstore Located inside the Northland Mall.
The proceeds from the sale of this book will be donated to Amethyst Center Programs and Services and is 100% tax deductible.
The Amethyst Center, Inc. board of directors established the Odessa N. Merrill Scholarship Fund in August 2010. This scholarship provides needed money to individuals who are entering an accredited four year university or college or to individuals who need assistance remaining in school.
The scholarship eligibility is based on academic performance and need. The winner of the scholarship must give forty hours to Amethyst Center, Inc. to receive the full scholarship.

ODESSA N. MERRILL SCHOLARSHIP CONCERT AND LUNCHEON:
2012 will mark the Second annual ODESSA N. MERRILL SCHOLARSHIP CONCERT AND LUNCHEON. This year will also mark 20 years of service for Amethyst Center, Inc. The scholarship will be awarded a deserving African American individual in need of additional funds to begin college or to remain in college. The winner of the scholarship will also be required to complete 40 hours of volunteer service to Amethyst Center, Inc.
This is a wonderful opportunity for any student who wishes to complete college. The requirement for the scholarship is that the student must complete and application and be entering an accredited University or College. The scholarship application may be obtained at the office located at 30777 Northwestern Highway Suite 108 Farmington Hills, MI 48334.
Audia De’ Essa:
In March 2004 the organization established a Fund-Raising boutique.
The boutique Audia De' Essa, offers a variety of giftware,
oriental furnishings, jewelry, accessories, fragrances.
A portion of the proceeds from purchases are donated to Amethyst Center.

Voice Lessons:
Amethyst Center, Inc. also offers voice lessons as a fund-raising project.
Voice lessons are available by appointment and the organization
has on staff a trained vocal musician. This service is offered for any vocalist who wishes to polish their vocal skills. The proceeds from the lessons are donated to the non-profit and your lesson is tax deductible.

DETROIT DEARING DANCE COMPANY ANNUAL PRODUCTION
"MAGNIFY THE LORD”:
This program train youth ages 4-18 in the art of dance and provides a
needed source of community activity, learning and fellowship to at-risk youth.
THE MICHIGAN WOLVERINE DENTAL HYGENISTS SOCIETY
ANNUAL GOLF OUTING AND DINNER.
The proceeds raised from this event provide scholarships in the area of dental health education for students entering college.
This organization also makes donations to organizations that assist children in need.
CAREER WORKS:
Administrative staff of Amethyst Center, Inc. donated time and talent to women seeking re-entry into the work force by presenting a workshop on interviewing skills, dressing for success, and advancement in the workplace.
Amethyst Center also participates on the Speaker's Panel.
Amethyst Center also offers different levels of sponsorship.

Gold: annual giving $500.00
Silver: annual giving $250.00
Bronze: annual giving $125.00
